Hertra® 1, 2, 2A, 5, 6, 6A, 9, 9A. Non absorbable Polypropylene monofilament meshes, pre-shaped, available in 5 different versions: rigid, semi-rigid, soft, lightweight or knitted with quadriaxial technology, to make lightweight yet strong prostheses. The Hertra® pre-shaped meshes are used to repair inguinal hernias in open surgery. They are easily and rapidly positioned as a result of their characteristics and shape-memory features. For this reason, Hertra® 1, 2 and 2A, 9 and 9A meshes can also be positioned without sutures or other fixing methods. They are the original meshes designed for tension-free inguinal repair according to Trabucco’s “tension-free, sutureless” surgical technique. Hertra® 1, 2, 5, 6 and 9 are indicated for male inguinal hernia repairs. The eccentric eye is in an anatomically correct position for the passage of the spermatic cord, and the prosthesis design is the result of hundreds of inguinal canal measurements performed by Dr. Trabucco. Hertra® 2A, 6A and 9A are for female inguinal hernias. Size varies from 4.5 x 10 cm (1.77 x 3.94 in) to 5.5 x 13 cm (2.17 x 5.12 in) depending on the ref. number. Hertra range of preshaped meshes is available in 14 different types to satisfy each general surgeon to customize the inguinal repair surgery according to its patient diagnosis.
